Congratulations to Paige Hoerner's 1st Place award in this years Congressional Art Competition. She accepted her award in Washington, D.C. and will have her art displayed in the Congress Building in Washington. So proud of our amazing student and her award!
The Visual Art Department is so excited to announce that Paige Hoerner received 1st place in this years 13th District Congressional Art Competition and will be receiving her award in at the U.S. Capital Building in Washington D.C. this summer. Paige's art will be displayed along with all the first place winners in the country in the Cannon Tunnel at the Capital Building for the next full year. Paige Hoerner

Honorable Mention Winners Stop Taking What's Not Yours, Indigo Rodriguez, Color Pencil on Paper, 11th Grade Interior Wardroom of the USS Olympia, Addison Stuckey, Watercolor and Ballpoint Pen on Paper, 12th Grade Participating Artwork LSA would like to congratulate the winners of this year's Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Our students won an astounding 18 awards this year including Gold Key for Portfolio the highest achievement awarded to senior's portfolios, Gold Key recognition, silver key recognition and honorable mention. This year we also had a student The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were founded in 1923 and, for nearly a century, have inspired bold ideas in creative teens throughout the country. This year's Gold Key winners will be considered for this year's National Competition where our work will be judged along with students from all regions in the United States for the possibility of Gold and Silver medallions.Gold Key Portfolio Winner: Finn McLaughlin, 12th Grade Classes: AP Art Studio 2D and Drawing, Teacher: Ms. Franklin Special Topics: Mixed Media Honors, Teacher: Ms. Scherer Ms. Scherer and Ms Franklin took Art Studio Advanced Honors and AP Studio Art: 2D, Drawing, and 3D went to NCMA for inspiration and Research for future projects!
Congratulations to Dahlia Reppert for designing a poster for a local Raleigh Band DUCK for their Thanksgiving Friendsgiving event. The band was thrilled with the original design and to show off the artwork of one of our talented students!
